A Strong Texan History
I am a Native Texan, born in El Paso, Texas, and raised primarily in Tarrant County. I attended Arlington Schools, played 5A football, and attended Texas Universities.
I am a graduate of Texas State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy with a minor in Anthropology. I attended Texas Wesleyan University School of Law and have been a practicing attorney for 17 years. I have been practicing Family Law as a trial attorney and have represented Tarrant County residents in private practice and the people of the State of Texas as a Managing Assistant Attorney General.
In addition to Family Law in private practice, I have handled matters in Criminal Law, Personal Injury Law, Bankruptcy Law, Immigration Law, and Corporate Governance Law.
Often Family Law must deal with matters that fall into all those categories. A Family Law Judge or Practitioner should know how all those areas of the law affect the Family, their finances, and their future.
As a Managing Assistant Attorney General, I managed a field office of the Texas Attorney General in the Child Support Division. I was responsible for up to 34 Child Support Officers including 5 Attorneys General. I managed a caseload of 45,000 cases and would handle court dockets of over 100 cases in a day. I was integral in streamlining those dockets and was recognized in 2013 as a Rising Star in management and in 2014 as Assistant Attorney General of the Year for my work in streamlining dockets and going paperless and implementing e filing.
I also served on the statewide forms committee and presented at the Statewide Assistant Attorney General Conference.
